Recently, PIPC provided comments to PCORI that offer some initial thinking on the topic.
In our letter to PCORI, we focus on a few core elements: aligning with the statute's definition of comparative clinical effectiveness research; reflecting the statute's emphasis on responsiveness to patient needs and preferences; and recognition that different patients have different needs and preferences.
Defining "patient-centered outcomes research" will be important to making sure the research actually meets the needs of patients and caregivers.
I hope you join us and make your voice heard as PCORI continues its work.
