"We continue to be concerned about ICER’s reliance on quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) to value treatments, a method that perpetuates not only devaluation of people living with disabilities and chronic conditions but also over-reliance on simplistic modeling and flawed utilities," wrote PIPC Chair Tony Coelho. "PIPC urges ICER to pause this assessment until more full data is available and to amend its methodologies more broadly to better reflect the patient experience."
