In a letter to North Dakota State Sen. Judy Lee (R-ND), the Partnership to Improve Patient Care (PIPC) offered strong criticism of legislation that would deploy the discriminatory quality-adjusted-life-years (QALY) metric as a means of addressing rising health care costs.

"We understand that the rising cost of health care is a concerning issue that requires real solutions," wrote PIPC Deputy Director Thayer Roberts. "We look forward to working with you and your fellow elected officials to manage health costs in a manner centered on meeting the health care needs of people with disabilities and chronic conditions."
